A safe space to heal
Hi, I’m Rupal, a counselling psychologist deeply committed to supporting children, young adults, and individuals navigating mental health challenges. Through my work, I aim to create a safe, empathetic space where people feel empowered to take control of their mental well-being. Whether I’m using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or collaborating with schools, my focus is always on making mental health care accessible and transformative.
What Drives Me
I’m driven by a passion for making a real difference in people’s lives. Therapy, to me, is about empowerment, self-discovery, and lasting change. By offering a personalized approach, I strive to help each person reconnect with their strengths and find their path forward. My mission is also to shift perceptions around mental health, creating an accepting space for everyone.
My Journey: From Struggle to Purpose
A Seed Planted in Pain
The Early Years: Confronting Anxiety
Growing up, I constantly navigated the pressures of school, friendships, and family expectations, with anxiety casting a shadow over my every day. At 14, my parents took me to a homeopath, hoping for some support. Instead, he dismissed me, calling me a “disgrace” to my family.
“That moment was shattering. It revealed the stigma around mental health in our culture and planted a seed in me—one that would shape my future.”
Finding My Calling
Exploring English Literature, Discovering Psychology
I enrolled in English Literature at Miranda House, but the pull of psychology remained strong. By my second year, I recognized my true calling was in psychology—a path where I could help others understand their minds and find compassion.
"With the encouragement of my family and inspiration from my uncle’s dedication to guiding young people, I gathered the courage to change direction."
Embracing the Journey of Becoming a Psychologist
Learning Through Introspection and Growth
Becoming a psychologist hasn’t been easy. This journey has demanded deep self-reflection and the courage to confront my own struggles. Therapy became not just a tool but a path to self-growth.
A Purpose Beyond Profession
Creating Compassionate, Accessible Mental Health Support
Today, I dedicate myself to making mental health support accessible and compassionate, especially for those who feel misunderstood, as I once did. I work to provide a safe, judgment-free space—a place of empathy and understanding.
